"Water Lily" 13x9.5 Original Painting
Original 13x9.5 Acrylic on Canvas Painting.
This lily painting was the last one I completed during my week-long retreat in Spain. I avoided painting the pink flower for as long as I could and focussed on painting the colors instead of the form. As an artist with an illustration background, this was very hard! My phone (with my reference photo) was placed at the other end of the table so I would only focus on what I see and not the details. At some point I felt like I was going backward, and to avoid ruining the lily, I decided it was complete!
