Studies From Life: A Monthly Art Postcard Club

Art you can hold. A creative process you can follow, shared intentionally over time.

Hi! I’m Becca, a contemporary painter based in San Diego. Studies From Life is where I share my work as it’s made through observation, practice, personal travel experience, and in response to everyday life.

This project is not about perfect, polished pieces. It is about showing up consistently, paying attention, and staying curious as an artist. Some months that looks like art prints of finished paintings, and other times it will look like studies, notes, and sketches from ongoing projects.

What is Studies From Life?

Some tiers also include physical mail such as postcards, letters, and small extras, because I love art that is tactile, accessible, and meant to be shared.

What You’ll Receive Each Month

Depending on the tier you choose, you may receive:

  • A painted postcard

  • A handwritten letter with photos

  • Behind-the-scenes studio content

  • Process notes and reflections

  • Digital downloads such as illustrations and wallpapers

  • Occasional extras like giveaways or an extra art print

Each postcard is based on a real painting I create in response to life as it happens, often inspired by travel, quiet moments, or everyday scenes!

The Postcard Club: $10 per Month

A monthly art postcard delivered to your mailbox.

Each month, you will receive:

  • One original 5 x 7 postcard featuring a new painting

  • A letter and photo collage connected to that month’s work

  • Behind-the-scenes content including videos, photos, and color palettes

  • Process notes on current projects

  • Access to the patron community

  • Digital downloads and wallpapers

  • Voting power on future pieces

Shipping is included and sent via stamped mail with no tracking. Join by the 20th of the month to receive that month’s postcard. Mail ships near the end of each month.

Why This Project Exists

I have been sharing my art online for years, and I am still learning what I want to say and how I want to say it. Studies From Life is a way to slow down, focus on practice, and invite others into that ongoing process.

  • Studies From Life is a monthly art project and Patreon community where I share paintings, process, and behind-the-scenes moments from my studio practice. Some tiers include physical mail like postcards, letters, and small extras.

  • Yes. All tiers are billed monthly through Patreon. You can join, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time.

  • The $3 tier includes behind-the-scenes content, work-in-progress updates, process notes, access to the patron-only community, voting and Q and A participation, and entry into a monthly postcard drawing. This tier does not include guaranteed physical mail.

  • The Postcard Club includes one 5 x 7 painted postcard each month, plus a letter and photo collage related to that month’s artwork. You also receive behind-the-scenes content, digital downloads, and access to the Patreon community.

  • The Pen Pal Bundle includes everything in the Postcard Club, plus an extra postcard of that month’s artwork and an exclusive sticker. This tier is designed for people who enjoy sharing art through the mail!

  • The postcards feature my original paintings reproduced as high-quality prints. Each design is created specifically for that month and is exclusive to members.

  • Postcards ship toward the end of each month.

  • You must join by the 20th of the month to receive that month’s postcard. If you join after the 20th, your first mailing will be the following month.

  • Yes. Shipping is included in the Postcard Club and Pen Pal Bundle tiers. Postcards are sent via stamped mail and do not include tracking.

  • Stamped mail does not include tracking, so while lost mail is rare, it can happen. If you believe your postcard was lost, feel free to reach out and I will do my best to help.

  • Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your tier at any time through Patreon.

  • Absolutely. Studies From Life is for anyone who enjoys art, process, and creative storytelling, whether or not you make art yourself.

  • This is an ongoing project with no planned end date. You are welcome to join for a single month or stay for as long as it feels right.
