Hey! So you’re here because you want to know how to paint a utility box. Back in 2020, I was in your shoes and when I went to Google, I could hardly find any information. As I’m writing this in 2022, I’ve now painted two boxes and can share with you a shortlist of things you need to do in order to paint one.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away… JK more like back in August 2021, one of my sister’s best friends reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in painting a mural in their new nursery, as they were expecting a baby girl soon.

It’s that time of year again! Or I guess I should say, it was that time of year again. Another October has come and gone and with it, so has the annual Peachtober drawing event…

On a random Tuesday, while aimlessly scrolling through Instagram, I came across a sponsored post from a non-profit organization called ArtReach. The post read “Call for Artists! Guitar Art Auction 2021” and I clicked right away.

Shortly after I moved from a small desert town to Los Angeles, I started noticing all the colorful utility boxes painted around my college campus. It was fun to take mental note of which ones were my favorite and why. After some time, I decided that I would put “paint a utility box” on my art bucket list. And just so you’re aware, this is one of those lists that I keep adding to in the back of my mind, but seldom touch…until this year.

Creating a brand is more than just fonts and colors, it’s curating an experience that feels authentic and trustworthy. As part of the interview process for a Graphic Design job, I created a logo, color palette, and mockup up 2 webpages for the fake brand, PotatoTater.

Way back in 2017, I decided to start a weekly watercolor journal. Inspired by other artists on instagram, I started this challenge for several reasons. For one, I wanted to improve my skills painting with watercolor. It’s a medium I’ve always admired but didn’t feel confident painting in.

Participating in the inktober challenge was something I had been looking forward to for years. What is inktober? 31 drawings in 31 days. Taking place in October every year, artists follow a list of prompts to draw something that emulates the word of the day. 

At CSUN I joined a student-run organization called VISCOM (VISual COMmunication) where students worked on design projects together in a collaborative environment. I was fortunate enough to work on projects for both on and off-campus clients, but MPAcc was by far the largest project.
